Anotha Day, Anotha Dolla

I couldn't come up with a name for this post so I just used one of my favorite catch phrases in case you were wondering. So, I've pretty much been stuck inside for the past few days with my munchkin Crew-dad-crawdad-critter.

He's sick, again! It hasn't been a very good few months for this kid.  He can't catch a break.  I'm hoping it doesn't spread to the rest of us, especially with Halloween coming up.

So, I've been spending way too much time on Facebook, Pinterest and looking out the window at the house progress.

Here it is today. I guess it doesn't look a whole lot different than last time.  But, they've started framing! We go to pick out windows tomorrow.

Indie has kept me pretty good company while Crew has been sleeping or hiding out in his room. Crew likes to be alone if his dad isn't available when he's sick. This is one of Indie's favorite spots and positions.  She doesn't move when you're coming up the stairs so we have to step over her.

I've also had an endless stream of workers coming in and out of our house fixing everything from the THIRD!!! flood we've had in this house.  I didn't take a picture of them, that'd be weird.  And, I've taken no pictures of the flood damage because it just makes me mad.

My mom was up visiting for her birthday.  I had a more normal picture but accidentally deleted it from my phone.  Sorry, mom.  We had fun hanging out, eating, and even did a little shopping.

She was gracious enough to take some family pictures of us that I'll have to upload later.

This Is The Place 2011

We happened to be in Salt Lake again this year for Pioneer Day so we took the kids to This Is The Place for a bit of pioneer fun. I often hear my kids (and myself) complaining about how hard something is whether it be a bike ride, a hike or chores around the house and quickly remind them (and myself) how hard the pioneers had it. I know we probably have no idea how hard it really was, but it always seems to help put things into perspective (at least for me).

The animals are always a hit, especially with Paige.

Crew loves the train rides.

And how can you not do a little jig with the fiddle music going? This sends Paige into a fit of embarrassment as you can see from her desperate attempt to keep Jim's feet on the ground. Hailey covers her face in pure shame for her strange parents. In the spirit of how hard our forefathers had it, I often tell stories of all the embarrassing things my own parents did, especially grandpa.

Ahhh, how nice it was to go back home to Grandmommy's air conditioned home. Paige held my mom's new dog, Rosie, any chance she could get while we were there.
