We had a great Halloween this year.
The weather was so great that we actually carved pumpkins outside!
I love the expressions.
The kids all had Halloween parades at school.
Crew took his parade very seriously, always on the lookout for someone who might need to be rescued by Batman. When he first tried on his costume, he ran up to me and said, "I'm going to go save somebody!" and ran outside.
Paige was "Dorothy" and I thought she made quite an adorable version. We searched far and wide for the perfect Todo and a basket for him.
Hailey told me early on she wanted to be a "dead bride" and I happened to find a wedding dress in her size at TJ Maxx. A little morbid but I guess it's Halloween.
After Crew's school parade, we went and saw the girls in their parade.
Saturday was the ward party. It was really fun to see all the great costumes.
After the ward party, Jim took the kids to "Boo at the Zoo."
I was a little burned out by this time so I stayed home and made Tortilla soup and handed out candy.
They had a great time. Hailey won 2nd place in the costume contest!
By the time they got home, I think they'd had enough.
Especially after they knocked on our door and Grandpa scared the bejezus out of them.
Crew and Paige weren't happy.
I pulled out one of my photo albums and showed the kids pictures of me as a kid on Halloween. Boy, my mom made some great costumes! I can't believe mom's back in the day actually made the costumes on top of all the other Halloween stuff you have to do.
I swear it's more exhausting for mom's than Christmas.
Apparently it's exhausting for Grandpa's too.
