Hogle Zoo

We went to Hogle Zoo while Wil, Alicia and Jaxon were in town.  I forgot my regular camera but took some shots with my phone.

This gorilla was HUGE!  It was so neat being so close to it!

And the cutest picture of ALL...Hailey and her cousin Jaxon!!!  I'm so mad I didn't get more pictures of him!  We are going to visit them in 2 weeks so I'm sure I'll make up for it then.  He is ADORABLE and has the personality to go along with it.

Hard at Work

Crew can keep himself busy at the kitchen sink for hours (ok, maybe 15 minutes but it seems like hours to me).  Just give him some dirty dishes, water and some dish soap and he'll go to town.

Watching him reminds me how little kids are like sponges, soaking up new experiences and still fascinated by such simple things as bubbles dripping down your arm.

Leroy Wildhorn

Leroy Wildhorn is a crazy cattle rustler who has been stealing cattle from neighboring ranches.  We sat in on this nut-case's trial.  Boy, he is one goofy guy.
Photobucket
Here he is being brought into the courtroom.
Photobucket
Paige was sure he was guilty right from the start.
Photobucket
During the course of the trial Leroy went from happy as a possum in a pine tree, to mad as a marmot in a manhole.  You never knew what would set him off!
Photobucket
One rather incriminating piece of evidence was discovered:  half of a human finger in the stolen cow's manure. It just so happened that Leroy was missing half of his pointer finger on his right hand.  He was found guilty and sentenced to 1 year in the town hall jail.

We were able to meet him for a minute after his sentencing, he seemed sort of dumbfounded to say the least.
Photobucket

I got a close up of that finger (or half a finger).

What a scoundrel!

And the Best Son-In-Law of the Year Award Goes To...

...my super-human, handy-man (and not to mention HOT) husband!
Photobucket

He spent 2 straight days rebuilding my mom's deck.  Three actually, if you count the entire day it took us to rip the old one out.  I was of course helping out too, but there are no pictures of me, thank goodness, I looked like a hillbilly.
Photobucket
My brother and my sister-in-law Alicia and their adorable son Jaxon's visit happened to coincide with the project so lucky Uncle Wil got to help out.
Photobucket
My dad even came and pitched in.
Photobucket
Just a cute picture of Hailey and Crew checking on the progress.
Photobucket
My mom and Crew enjoying the finished product!

Utah Trip

Photobucket
I love this photo of Paige.  I have to give the credit to Jim, he definitely has an eye for taking pictures.

Jim had some time off so we decided to take a little trip down to Utah.  We packed in the fun.  It started with the Arts Festival in Salt Lake.  The kids had a great time getting their faces painted, making hats and eating.  I guess we were too busy, we didn't get any pictures of that day.

The next day we headed up to Park City for a few days.  The first night Crew woke up with a really high fever.  Jim took him to urgent care the next morning and the two spent the next day asleep in the hotel room (Jim wasn't feeling very well either).  I took the girls out and we hit all the fun rides at the Park City Mountain Resort.  It was so fun but I felt so bad for Jim and Crew.

When I was a kid, we thought the Alpine Slide was so fun and now they've got so much more!  The mountain roller coaster was probably the highlight along with the trampoline, bungee cord thing.  The next few days we spent at the pool or hanging out in town.

Jim and I were able to sneak away and do the zip line one afternoon when my dad came up.  I just got a picture of our feet, waiting.
Photobucket
We also got to get away one morning to go mountain biking in Deer Valley.  It was gorgeous and really, really fun.
Photobucket
Until I fell and scraped up my arm :(
Photobucket
On Saturday morning, my mom watched the kids so we could mountain bike the Bonneville Shoreline luge trail.  That one was a blast and I only scraped up my arm a little that time.

We headed back to Salt Lake on Thursday and decided to take the kids on a quick hike in Millcreek Canyon.  It was the only time I had the camera (most of the other pictures were just with my iPhone, pretty good for a phone though!) so we took a bunch of pictures.

Before we headed up the trail...

Jim and I were both carrying someone on our way up.
Photobucket
There was a lot of whining...
Photobucket
and stopping... and refusing to go on...

By the time we turned around and were going down, the attitudes got much better.
